Paul ‘Pablo’ Dordal
Paul ‘Pablo’ Dordal is the founder of the Allegheny Data Institute (ADI), an independent civic data initiative dedicated to making information about life in Allegheny County accessible, understandable, and useful to the public.
Pablo brings an interdisciplinary background spanning organizational leadership, nonprofit management, public administration, strategic planning, and data science. He holds a doctorate in management and a master’s degree in intercultural studies and has spent much of his professional life working with public-service organizations, non-profits, and faith-based community groups.
Across these settings, his work has consistently focused on helping leaders and organizations understand their mission, evaluate their effectiveness, and translate values into meaningful action. In recent years, Pablo has expanded that work through data analytics and data science, developing skills in statistical analysis, data visualization, and database design.
Pablo founded the Allegheny Data Institute from a simple conviction: important public data should not be accessible and understandable only to specialists. ADI brings together data on county government, demographics, economics, housing, transportation, public health, public safety, the environment, and other areas of civic life in one platform and presents it in straightforward dashboards, briefs, visualizations, and analysis.
A particular focus of his work is identifying persistent economic and social disparities and providing the public with tools to evaluate whether government and institutions are producing meaningful systemic change.
Through Allegheny Data Institute, Pablo hopes to combine rigorous analysis with public accessibility—providing reliable information without telling people what conclusions they must draw from it.
